on the 6th day

Hi everyone, I'm back on the 6th day with two tags: #3 and #4.
I know I am far behind everybody else, but I am just not able to do one tag every day, need some improvement in the organisation skills area.
Anyway, here are the tags:
Tag #3
Since I had no tissue tape at all, I had to find out something. I got my simple masking tape and stamped on it and it worked out OK. I am not totally satisfied with the tag though, I don't like the flower, cos it's too big, I tried to make it smaller, but the tape was too wide.

Onto the 4th one:

But I like this one a lot, I used Pink Paislee paper and this Santa with the list is my fav. I used some liquid pearls in silver instead of the bling. I also tried the stamping on the facet, but It didn't turn out that nice, maybe because of the Stazon inkpad, I'm not sure. So I covered it with some alcohol inks and stamped the snowflakes on to it.
I am off to work on tag#5 and #6 I might be back today with the results...

2nd tag

Hi everyone, seems like I'm one tag behind, but I'm definitely having fun. I haven't got any reinkers so, I couldn't try the "good to know" technique, but I tried to make something similar. This is it:

I used the mini festive stamps and a bird charm. I think I like this one better than the first one. Let's see what tomorrow will bring.

Something else:
I managed to finish the first batch of Christmas cards, in numbers: 11. I didn't go too far with the design, stamping and a bit of ribbon. I saw this stamping technique in the Craft Stamper magazine.

That's all for today, be back tomorrow, hopefully with two tags.

1st tag of Christmas

Hi everyone out there, I hope you're all OK. Here in the snowy Ireland (LOL) life got a bit slower than usually. Even my class in college got cancelled due to the bad weather. So I stayed in and made the first tag of Tim Holtz's 12tags of Christmas.
I haven't got the dies he used but I didn't mind. I tried to get inspiration and use the techniques he did. So this is what I came up with.
For the background I pressed inkpads onto the craft sheet, spritzed with water and place the tag on it (you know how), I repeated this  a few times. Then I tore a little piece of paper to mask out one corner of my tag and stamped over with the music notes background stamp. I also stamped and embossed some pine branches on the corner (pine needle distress ink& clear embossing powder).
The ornament: Embossed some cardstock with CB dotted folder. Covered it with gold acrylic paint, sanded and applied some distress inks, just exacly the way HE did. Then cut pieces and adhered them onto another sheet of paper. I cut the shape out with scissors. After inking the edges iIcoverd the whole piece with rock candy crackle paint. I placed a little bow and pearl on the top.
Banner: stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the groungepaper piece which I covered with gold acrylic before. Distressed the edge with TH distresser and inked with walnut stain. Then folded into the shape, adhered with hot glue.

Pop over to the Crafty Alley ning network where we share our tags and I hope to see yours.

I'll be back tomorrow with another tag, can't wait till morning so I can see tag #2 on his blog.

Scrapzville Swap - November

Hi everyone, three posts in two days, wow!! I just wanted to quickly show you the mini I made for the Scrapzville November Swap.

Looks like I wasn't entirely following the rules, I hope my partner doesn't mind. Not bigger than 6x6, mine is slightly bigger, but that is because of the envelopes. Envelope?? We had to include one envelope somewhere, not remembering this I made the whole mini as an envelope mini LOL.
I made a little video to show you. I am sorry for not being a perfect narrator in the video, I still get bit nervous when I'm recording.

I hope you like it. I'll try to make a tutorial on my way of creating an envelope mini, so check back around the weekend.

The ONE who kept me busy

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was busy in the last few weeks, because I got a cat. I adopted Mitzee (originally Benny) from Dublin SPCA two weeks ago. Mitzee is a little boy, approx 20 weeks old. Very cute and hyper, love everything with a bell on it, therefore he loved the Christmas mini I made (check out tomorrow). He loves to sleep on the sofa and also loves to scrach it. The funny thing is that we wanted a little female cat and Mitzee is a boy, but when I saw him in his pod I knew he was going to come home with me.
Here are some pictures:

He is so funny, goes into every box and corner and  he loves to play. I am very happy that we got him, since I wanted to have a cat for a year now, since my other can went missing. I miss her still, but I wanted to have a cat company, cos they are so adorable.

That's all for today,

Simon Says Stamp and Show - A tag

Hi Everyone, I'm back. Not that I went anywhere, but I wasn't really blogging for the last few weeks.  I got very busy with my newly adopted cat (piccies in another post) But today I'm showing you a tag I made for the November Swap, which was organised by Nicole on the Crafty Alley Ning network.

I made tags for everybody in the group, each with the same design, but the colours turned out a bit different. And honestly my favourite one was the first, but I forgot to take a photo of it.

I am entering this into the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show

This is by the way a little warming up activity for the 12 tags of Christmas. Nicole and myself are planning to follow Tim making his tags, check out here.

Thanks for looking,

new blog background

I know, I know.... a new one again. But I like to change it and this one I made myself. It was a long-long process in Photoshop and all the 'how to' entries in google, but finally I got there.
I tried to get an inky splattered look, I think it turned out almost like I wanted. Only a few things left to finish and I will have a first 'made by me' blog 'outfit'.

By the way, there is a few projects in process: Christmas cards, ATC for swap, tags for swap, mini album for swap, but none of them are compeletely finished.

I hope you all have a great weekend, I'll be back later with some piccies,

Hi everyone, today I am gonna show you the Frightful and Delightful mini I made for the Scrapzville Swap in October.
I recorded a little video, I hope you like it and sorry for the quality, I am always very nervous when talking to myself LOL.
Ok, many the things I used not really for Halloween, but I hadn't got too much of scarry stash. My very favourite page is with the Halloween playing cards, I got them digitally from etsy.

I am entering this mini to Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge
So this is it, I hope you like it.

Happy Halloween,

Compendium of Curiosities #19 - my ATC

Hi Bloggers, today I went to RDS, Dublin for the Knitting and Stich Show and I bought THE book. Finally I got to this stage to buy it. I couldn't wait till I got home to have a quick look what is the challenge over at Studio L3.
This week we had to open the book on page 61 and use the technique (Extreme masking) on the project.
This is what I came up with:

Frankly, I'm very pleased how it turned out. By the way this is my first ever ATC, but definitely not the last one. It is so much fun to create something quite small.
I'm off to read the whole book, I might be back with something else LOL.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Happy Halloween

Another Wedding Card

Second post today. Can you beleive it?? Anyway. I just wanted to show you the card I made for a friends wedding.
I used Mo's digital stamp and coloured it with Promarkers. I used some handmade paper for the background which I punched with MS border punch.

All the flowers are handmade used some flower dies I have. Also I punched tons of leaves and adhered them under the flowers.

This is it for today, I hope you liked it,

Prima - Build a Page October

Hi, being home recovering from pneumonia gives me the opportunity to create :D. So what I did was a layout using the Prima BAP sketch.

I used Prima paper: Youth and Pulse collection and also the flower are from Prima. I used one Prima pebbles, but since I didn't like the text in it I altered and stamped 'me' on to paper and adhered it under the pebble. I like how it turned out. I like the dimension of it.
I draw the background shape with Caran D'ache crayons and spritzed some Glimmer mist to create some splatters.
Recently I watched a lot of Donna Downey videos, you can't tell, hm?? LOL

I am also entering this layout into the competition over at CardznSrapz, where you have to include some paper pleating, distressing and lace into your projects.

On the photo: it's me, with short red hair in Moscow (2005) on the Cosmonauts Alley standing in front the Memorial of ValentinaTereshkova, the first woman in space.

After writting a very scientific and education blog post I'd better go to get a hot cup of tea.
I hope you liked my layout, thanks for watching,

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Something Spookey

Hi everyone, today I am going to show a Halloween Exploding box. I saw this idea in Marion's show and I couldn't resist.
I used some Pink Paislee papers and die-cuts. The flower on the top is from Prima.

I stamped spiderweb all around and distressed the edges with black soot DI.

I am entering this into Simon Says stamp and Show Challenge.

I hope you like it,

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything but card

Hi dear blog readers, I hope you keeping fine and had a lovely weekend. Monday is not my favourite day, but I can admit that I like Tuesdays the least. But let's see what will happen tomorrow. There will be one good point anyways, when I'll give this little halloween treatbox to my friend. She asked me to create something for the grandson, so this is what I came up with.

I used a template from Marion Smith Designs. After receiving the template I edited it in Photoshop so I could print it on an A4 paper. I used on page Tim Holt  Lost and Found collection, it went easily through the printer.
I cut out and assembled the box. I kep it simple: heat embossed some green swirls, place some lace on the bottom part of the box. I also heat embossed the AC letters.

As you can see the letters are not solid green. I overheated the embossing power to get this grungy look. On the top there is a handmade tulle flower which I completed with a prima flower and an owl charm.
I am entering this to Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge.

I hope you liked it, thanks for visiting and leaving lovely comments.

Wedding card with some metal

Over at Simon Say Stamp and Show the challenge of the week is to use some metal on your creation.
I made a card for my friends' wedding. This is not only a card but their present in the same time.
I used a lot of different things to make this card. Firts I downloaded some old vintage advertisments about travelling to Ireland and also a pic of a pub ( thanks for those who shared them). I edited these into a 6x6 square and printed them. This is the background of the front of the card.

The front is all about travel and journey, because my wedding gift for the couple is a short visit to Dublin.
I made the flower with the TH die and put some metal pieces in the middle to make it like a compass.
The inside of the card is quite simpe, I just put their name, destination, and time as it was a flight ticket.

I used DP from K&Co and also Making Memories. Distress Inks: Rusted Hinge, Brushed Corduroy, VIntage Photo. Text is written with my calligraphy pen.

I hope you like this idea, thanks for visiting me.

Basic Grey - Sparkles

Over at Basic Grey Challenge the theme is: Sparkle. I made this crad using the Eskimo kisses collection. This is a very simple card, no paper layering, not too many embellies. I saw the ruffled ribbon idea somewhere on the internet and I had to give it a try.
The little letter are cut with a Tim Holtz die and I got them in a die-cut swap. Coloured them with Pine Needles distress ink and covered it with stickles.
By the way this is the next card in my Christmas card collection for this year.
I hope you like it, thanks for visiting me,

Just Magnolia - 2x2

Hi Everyone, I am back with a card that I made during the weekend. As I said I had to hurry up with Christmas cards so I made this with a Christmassy Tilda ( I don't know her name). She is from last year's collection.
I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday, but rotated it. I am entering this card to Just Magnolia 2x2 challenge too.

I used two patterned paper, two little blings in the corners and two tags. The papers are from Magnolia also from last years collection. The ponsettia and the tags are from Coredination white wash papers. Ponsettia was cut with a die and the tags I cut out with scissors. Tilda is coloured with distress inks.

I am also entering this to Magnolia Down Under Challenge where the theme is Tag it!. That's why I put two tags on the card. :-D

I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,

Simon Says Challenge - Halloween

Just a quick Halloween card I made and entering to the Halloween theme challenge over at Simon Says Challenge blog. I used Pink Paislee Twilight collection paper. There is no stamping on, cause I left space inside for photo, so the one who'll receive it can put a Halloween-y photo in it.So this is it when open:

and when closed:

I hope you like it, thanks for stoping by,

Scrapzville Swap - September

Over at Scrapzville the theme for the monthly swap was a toilet-roll minialbum with a twist to use fairy on the projects. Since my partner already received it I can show it to you now.
I haven't got anything fairy, so I decided to make the mini-album and then figure out how to incorporate a fairy into it.
This is what I came up with:

I used Prima Youth collection papers, and I thought Urban Fairy would be a good name for the mini. I made a little fairy from shrink plastic. The binding is from and old notebook, just reorganised the wires and it became a perfect binding for this album. I kept the inside plain, cause since it is made from toiletroll there aren't too many space in it. If you want to have a deatiled look go to this picasa webalbum.
This is it for today, I hope you like it, thanks for having a look.

Whiff of Joy - Jane's Sketch

Hi everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend. I started to do my Christmas cards, I have done two already. This one is following Jane's Sketch over at WOJ.

I used the Bo Bunny papers which I got free with a magazine, I had to tone the background paper down with a bit of white acrylic, because it was too bright. I made a big ponsettia with my new dies to decorate the base of the easel card. The WOJ image is coloured with Promarkers

This is my second Christmas card this year and have another good few to do ( about twenty), so better hurry 'cause there's only two month left.

I hope you like this one, thanks for visiting,

Squirell picnic

Hi everyone,
I had a great crafty weekend, I have made so many things which I can not show just now. There is one card I'd like to show anyhow. This is an autumn themed card and I got the idea from the Craft Stamper magazine. I never met Squiggle Stamps before and I fell in love with them.
I have used Basic Grey papers for all the background and the trees.

The girl, the squirrel and the fence are digital images and colourde them with markers. I was free hand drawing the trees myself, I am very happy how it turned out.
I am entering this card into Simon Says Challenge where the theme is for the week is autumn.

I hope you like it, thanks for looking

Time to celebrate card

Hi everyone, It's been soo long since I posted last time. Time flies and I am so busy recently, I can't tell.
Today I managed to make a card with the Crafty Alley September Kit and I did it for a friend's granddaughter who just got great results on her Junior Cert. So this is the card:
It's quite simple I did only a little bit of stamping and no colouring.

The paper is from Basic Grey and the flowers are from Prima.
I just loved these pinks and greens together inspite the fact that I am not really a pinky person.
The sentiment stamp I got with a magazine, first I thought that I wouldn't use it at all, but here I am now...
So this is for today, if you like pop over to the Crafty Alley Design Team blog, so you can have a look what the others came up with using the September Kit.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Tim Holtz insired

Hi everyone,

Today I'm gonna show a tag I made for the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge.

I made a tag shape using heavy cardstock. Then I layered a bit of old book paper, which I tore here and there. Then painted it with CH paints. I die cut a bird cage shape and utee-d it 4 times and the cut some bars of it.
I stamped and embossed the bird before I adhered the cage.(I am not totally happy with the result) Decorated with a rose (grunge rose like) and some little prima flowers. Used lots of distress inks and some TH and Prima stamps. Added some text made with DYMO. And that's it.

Hope you like it, thanks for visiting,

First WOYWW

Today is the day when I first will take part in What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday? by Julia at Stamping Ground. Actually I wanted to start this habit a bit earlier, but there was always something else to do (excuses, excuses, excuses....)
Anyway, let's have a look what I have on my workdesk:
(sorry about the pics, I just learned that better to take my photoes in th daylight :S)

Very close look. I know it's too bright, but those little 2x2 pieces are for a canvas I am making at Claudine Hellmuth's class.

Other bit and pieces from Claudine's class. Can you spot the home-made foam stamp a' la Tim Holtz?

This is my whole desk in the corner of my bedroom. On of my dreams to have a whole craft room, where I can craft day and night and don't have to worry about the mess I cause :D:D Anyway, no complaints.

So this is it. I try to visit many of you, please forgive if I can not get to everywhere, cos I'm spedning my weekend in Hungary at one of my nest friend's wedding :D:D

Crafty Alley August Kit projects # 2 - Folded Mini

Hi everyone,

Today's project is a mini-album I made using 3 beautiful sheet from the Crafty Alley August Kit. I saw this idea of mini album in the latest scrapbook magazine.

Here is the front. I kept it very simple. I used the flower and a leaf from the august kit. The label holder is from my stash and coloured it a bit of pink CH paint and then wiped the paint of, so the paint still can be seen here ana there.
I didn't want to junk up the inside, because I wanted it to close neatly. here's a pic when it's open:

I also brushed some light pink paint onto few pages to create some journalling spot.

That's it for today, I hope you liked it, thanks for visiting me.

Crafty Alley August Kit projects # 1 - Altered box for embossing folders

Hi Everyone,

I'm here to show you a box that I altered using paper and other bits and pieces from the Crafty Alley August Kit.
The box is from IKEA and just the perfect size for my embossing folders which were everywhere around in my drawer.

First I covered the whole lot with gesso, then I tore the paper from the kit and glued down with some gel medium. Then I painted some patches of Crackle paint (which was in the kit too). When it was dry used some Claudine Hellmuth paint and exrta time and painted the whole again. Then I stamped some images all around with black stazon.

The little key is from the August Kit and the other TH bit are from earlier Crafty Alley Kits. I have written 'embossing bugs' with my DYMO laber maker.

For the lid: I used the knob which was in the kit (LOVE IT) and made a flower centre of it.
Flower: tranferred the same paper onto sticky back canvas, then die cut the TH flowers and just layered them up. To make the petals curl up I brushed a bit of multi medium over it.

So this is it. I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,

Art Journal for a friend

Hi Everyone,

Today I'm gonna show you an art journal which I made for a great friend of mine for her birthday.
I used Prima Paintables and other water colour paper. The cover is chipboard painted with Studio Line acrylic paint. The idea is from Marion Smith @ pieceofcraft.com.

I didn't decorate it cos I want her to colour it herself and fill it with some painting or whatever she likes.
Here is a closer look from inside:

For the binding: I punched lot of holes on the spine and tied the pages together with a thin black ribbon.

I hope she will be happy and use it for her great artistic ideas.

I also hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,

9X9 Layout in a frame

Hi Everybody, I hope you're all keeping well. We just enjoy the summer here in Ireland :D:D
Today I'd like to show a layout I made for a friend. The size is 9x9 to fit the frame from IKEA.

So this is it. I have used Mariposa paper collection for the background and for the photo mat. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft except of the big one, that's from Prima.

The birdcage and the bird is from Maya Road. I have coloured the bird cage with perfect pearls and then added a good few coat of UTEE. The pearls are also from Prima ( cut into pieces :D )

I have made a cut into the background and curled the edges and after I coloured it with distress inks. (the idea is not mine, I got it from Marion Smith, my greatest inspiration) I placed an old book page behind the frame which I coloured and UTTE-d the same way I did with the cage. The sentiment was written with my new calligraphy pen.

I hope you liked it, thanks for looking,

Timi K
